- “It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?"” ~ Winnie the Pooh ~ I have been a counselor for 18 years. My clients might describe me as a little different from the traditional counselor. I don't sit behind a desk, I often slip off my All Stars so I can cross my legs in my chair, I give adults assignments with crayons, I am a fan of outings and snacks in sessions, and I have been known to hurl a tissue ball or some other variety of soft spongy item at a client who has not completed homework or who has done something that makes me shake my head. But I think most of them would say they wouldn't have it any other way. I am a mommy to triplets and two furry babies, I can recite all 50 states in alphabetical order in under 30 seconds, my birthday cake is always an eight inch two layer white, not yellow, cake with chocolate fudge frosting, and I dream of snow storms, ruby red slippers, and one day walking the countryside of Ireland.
